Description

The green garnets in this beautiful Victorian ring are known as demantoid garnets originating from Russia. They have an exceptional lime green colour with incredible dispersion which is unlike any other green gem stone.

The twist style is accented by graduated old cut diamonds totalling approx. 0.86cts.

The ring is set in 18ct yellow gold and is stamped 18CT.

UK ring size: O 1/2

Demantoid garnets are also know as ‘Uralian emeralds’. They have a strong fire and brilliance to them allowing the lime green colour to sing. In sizes over 1ct, the stone is incredibly rare. The largest stone in this ring has an estimated weight of 0.63cts. Demantoid garnet is typically found in small sizes as accents to Victorian insect or animal brooches or pave set on lizard brooches, thus taking advantage of the small stone sizes.
