Row of studio pottery ceramic beads by Guy and Joan Sydenham
Each ceramic bead in this necklace is handmade and has a different colour, shape and texture.
The beads were made by husband and wife team Guy and Joan Sydenham on Green Island, Poole between 1968 and 1988. Guy Sydenham’s mark for this period of his pottery manufacture was an image of the famous National Trust landmark, Corfe Castle ( a stone’s throw away from our shop in Wareham!). This mark can be found on one of the large square beads approximately half way along the necklace. In addition, the same bead is also marked with the generic Guy Sydenham mark of a flat fish.
The necklace does up with a ceramic toggle style clasp.
