Victorian banded agate and silver egg locket

Description

This unusual locket dates to the late Victorian period.

Each half of the locket is made from an oval banded agate cabochon showing distinct brown and black concentric banding. When the two halves are closed, it creates a wonderful egg shape.
The mount is silver and when opened there are two shallow compartments that would suit a lock of hair or photograph.

Measurements: c. 2.2cm long (excluding bale)
